Bills' Bay Day Gives New England Path to AFC East Lead - Highlights of NFL Week 10

The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL
This outcome may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard season average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team out of it - rather than the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three eight and two squads in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but could they be the best?
You can find flaws in New England, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined 24 victories achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time win in Buffalo appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to victory
The defense is reliable and first-year rusher Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to exceed 22mph this season on his first score
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to face. There is a considerable distance to go but the door is open for a shock number one position in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each put up forty points to reach 7-2 ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a game
Each could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score
The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and adding another forty-two {receiving yards
